About

The Oregon Seed Council is a trade organization that advocates for seed farmers, seed marketers, brokers, researchers and others involved in the Oregon seed industry. Bringing industry together, we serve as a leading voice for industry, and elevate the importance and quality of Oregon grown seed within the public, media, and the government.

Oregon is known as the "Grass Seed Capital of the World" for a reason. As the number five commodity in the state, our grass seed is used globally for athletics and recreation. Our world renowned seed has appeared in FIFA World Cups and in the Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy.

Chances are, if you look around, you'll see our industry products around you too – on the soccer field, on your drive home, at the family picnic and more. Did you know that grass provides health benefits? In addition to its aesthetic ease, grass creates oxygen which lowers your blood pressure, reduces muscle tension related to stress, and can help with your general wellness.

Providing places for kids, adults, pets, and others to spend time outside, grass surfaces offer a healthy place for recreation and leisure time, and offer a significantly reduced risk for injury when compared to synthetic turf.
